My name is Ashley, and I'm getting ready to start a world traveling adventure with no set end date. I graduated from university 2.5 years ago, and I haven't gotten a full time career yet. I have been working as a nanny to save up some money to follow my dreams and travel the world. My favorite thing in life is meeting new people, and I can't wait to do that all over the world and experience new places and cultures. I know that this is the best time to live this dream while I'm young, alive, and physically able before I'm married, have kids, and get settled into a career.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Like I said, my favorite thing is meeting new people, especially from other cultures. I came across the couch surfing website and knew it would be perfect for me. By couch surfing, I'll be able to meet people that live in the places I'm travelling and learn about the cities/countries from a local's perspective, all while saving money on accommodation. I have been saving up for this trip, but any way I can save money along the way will be extremely helpful and allow me to travel longer.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love almost all types of music! For movies, I really like comedies, such as Tommy Boy and Anchorman. I honestly don't read as much as I would like to, but I do enjoy books about travel and people living their dreams.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done recentky is when I went to Thailand alone and met up with a tour group of strangers for 6 weeks. It was the best decision I've ever made! I made so many amazing friends from all over the world and experienced many new things. It was the first time I traveled out of the United States. Ever since I've been back home from that trip, my passion for travel and meeting new people has gotten so much stronger.

Teach, Learn, Share

Through couch surfing, I would like to learn about new people, cultures, and places while also teaching other people about myself and my experiences. I think couch surfing will be a mutually beneficial experience.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to think I have a pretty unique outlook on life compared to other people my age in my country. My hope is to inspire others to do what makes them happy everyday and follow their dreams. It may take some courage and hard work to do that, but it will be so worth it. Tomorrow is never guaranteed so it's important to live in the moment. I don't want to be laying on my death bed thinking about all the things I wish I would have done, because at that point it is too late. I want to live a life of happiness and no regrets, and I hope to inspire others to do the same!
