Hi there! I am a college student from the U.S. interested in traveling the world to learn what I can from different people and cultures! I am constantly amazed by the things that I have discovered by meeting new people and I am discovering new interests all the time. Currently my main focus is on learning Arabic, a long time goal that I am trying to accomplish by studying in Morocco. I have been living in Morocco for a few months now (I decided to return after spending a few months studying abroad in Morocco during the Spring of 2018 and falling in LOVE with this beautiful place) and will be here for at least the rest of the year. Perhaps I will even pick up a bit of French while I'm here, we'll see what happens ;)

I am a bit of a contradiction in that I am at once a homebody and a free spirit - I love to discover new things, but find so much happiness in familiarity as well! This manifests itself in my travels: my idea of discovering the world is meeting new people from all over that I can really get to know and form lasting friendships with. I try to challenge myself and try new things as well - I have never regretted doing so and hope that I never lose the desire to live life in the moment.

My friends would describe me as open-minded and a good listener. When I meet someone, I so enjoy listening to them tell me their life story. I find so much can be learned from just listening to one another. This combined with my LOVE of coffee means that my ideal day would be spent talking with someone on topics about anything under the sun over a warm drink. Let's talk about politics, history, gender, books, music - I want to know what you are passionate about and just share and connect over these things. We don't always have to agree, but that's what's so great about this wonderful life!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I begin to accomplish my dream of traveling, I would like to meet people from all corners of the world who can share their stories with me :) I hope that, with the help of this site, I will meet like-minded people and grow as an individual. My travels are just beginning and I can't wait to see where they lead me!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my favorite memories is the 3 nights that I spent camping under the stars in the Moroccan desert of Merzouga. We drank Moroccan tea, listened to Gnawa music, and rode on camels over sand dunes. Those nights reminded me of just how expansive our world is, and how much of it that is still yet to be discovered. I felt so insignificant under the clear starry night sky, but also filled with pure joy at the beauty of it all.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a bit of a 'jack of all trades' type: I'm not sure if this is because I haven't found my true passion yet, or I just like the new and exciting. However, some of my interests - which I am FAR from an expert in - include cooking different cuisines and new foods (I especially love all things curry), discussing current events (both in the U.S. and around the world), and discovering new places.

I'm learning Arabic, and would love to meet native speakers who would be willing to practice with me :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to exchange stories and learn from one another. I can also help hosts who are interested in learning/improving their English. As I stated above, I am far from an expert cook, but I am improving (slowly but surely!!) and would love to cook with you! Of course, I should warn you that I am a very messy cooker (not sure how, but something always end up on the ceiling?!) BUT I am also good at cleaning up the mess after.

I enjoy coffee, tea, and other hot beverages a LOT and would love to spend a day in a cafe discussing life with a stranger (and maybe we will part as friends?)

I also adore animals and will be happy to meet (and play with) your 4 legged friends!
