I was working in a big corporation for some time and I've just finished a PhD. Now that I'm unemployed and offically a Dr, I'm making some time to explore the world and make new friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like meeting new people and exploring new places, so what better way. I'm hoping to break free from all obligations both cultural and capitalism related and run freeeee soon.

Interests

I enjoy Indian culture, self exploration and introspection through different means, museums, laying in fields, getting lost in woods, sitting in coffee shops for hours whilst drinking endless cups of green tea and people watching, watching videos of animals (esp dogs), watching documentaries, laughing along to podcasts in public and looking kind of weird, learning/engaging in social/political issues (protests and fighting against injustice in solidarity w my global brothers and sisters is my kinda thing), dancing in dark sweaty rooms to repetitive dance music.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: DnB, soul, jazz (developed a real love for Middle Eastern jazz recently). I like most genres though.

Films: Qissa and Bol (see if you can find subtitled versions), Pulp Fiction, A Clockwork Orange, This is England.

Books: A Thousand Splendid Suns, Memoirs of a Geisha, Wuthering Heights, The Poisonwood Bible, Lolita.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently went on a soul searching journey in India. I discovered that my grandfather was an army general and murdered a few people. My family was also incredibly rich and owned masses of land and properties. I could have been an Indian princess.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you phrases (or swear words) in Punjabi and Hindi. I'll share any food I have and let you read my books. I love conversations with children and all the weird and wonderful topics that tend to come up. I'm also great with animals, especially dogs.
