About Me

In a previous life I was a travel physical therapist, which allowed me to explore the US (West Virginia, Arizona, and California). Now I'm enjoying Baltimore and traveling as my boss allows.

I've always loved traveling from Spanish and Japanese exchange students in high school to several solo trips in Spanish-speaking countries.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to keep my toes in the travel world and keep exploring even as I take root in Baltimore.

Music, Movies, and Books

-I like folk music, have some favorite pop songs, and really like newer artists with older sounds (Leon Bridges for example)

-All of the books! Latest favorites are: Her Bodies and Other Parties by Carmen Maria Machado (creepy short stories) and Manhattan Beach by Jennifer Egan (WWII, gangsters, and female divers!).
Add some trashy romance novels to keep it all balanced.

-Even with a love of books, I find it hard to sit through a movie...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Solo moved 8 times in the last 4 years across the US. I Tertis'd up my Toyota Matrix with all of my belongings and crossed the US in 3 days.
Long-distance driving is my hidden super power: I drove from New Orleans to Baltimore in a long 16 hour day.

Teach, Learn, Share

-I'm always learning Spanish, it's a life-long work in progress.

-I also want to learn more about backpacking--as in the camping, and eventually hike the Appalachian Trail.
-I still am a very poor sailor. I want to find a day/place to take out a Sunfish or a Laser.

-I really enjoy learning about different things, so I'm always up for something nerdy (a talk on coral reefs, going to the Newseum, watching RBG).

What I Can Share with Hosts

A great chicken tika masala recipe. Weird stories about my family. Adjustments to walkers and canes?

To Couchsurfing friends: We can try to find someplace to go crabbing, hiking, or swing dancing!
