Deep sense of wanderlust and desire to melt into new places, meet new people, and hear stories from around the world. I love to hike and explore, venture a bit off the beaten path, enjoy an excellent cup of coffee and/or glass of wine and cocktail, and experience the magic of beautiful places. Passionate about hiking and being outside, moving my body, and finding new adventures.

Solo travel has been a big shift in my life over the past year, but I’m no stranger to traveling. I’m currently taking a mini hiatus from political and social justice work while I take time to explore and connect with new people and cultures. There’s too much beauty in this world I have yet to see! I’m very independent while also always down for a group hang.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have made traveling a very high priority in this phase of my life. Couchsurfing will allow me to both connect with folks along the way and make it financially accessible for me to travel for longer periods of time. I love connecting with people, hearing their story, learning their favorites things to do and spots around town, and feeling like I’m in a home away from home. I’m a solo female, and this all feels right for me!

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m an avid music fan. I love to dance and go see live music. The spectrum of music I enjoy includes bluegrass, funk, good house, rock, jazz, jam, and reggae, and anything with a good beat!

Favorite movies include Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, good animated movies, comedies, and classic dramas.

My current favorite books include anything written by Adrienne Marie Brown or Octavia Butler.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was one of three opening speakers for Bernie Sanders during his 2020 presidential campaign. I’ve also rafted the Pacuare River in Costa Rica twice.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’m always open to talking about my experiences in political work in the US, gardening, flora and fauna generally, hiking and outdoor experiences, food and culture in the South, and travel. In return I seek to learn about the same from those I connect with as I expand my footprint across the globe.

I LOVE to cook and share meals. I would love to cook up a meal for you, or with you, if that sounds appealing! I always miss my kitchen at home when I’m traveling.
