Overview
About Me
My fiancé, Dan, and I moved to Budapest two years ago to pursue a new career in international teaching. I teach first and second grades and he teaches fourth grade. It has been as equally challenging as it's been rewarding!
We love both living here and exploring other beautiful areas of Europe. We have a cat named Cleo. I enjoy hiking, exploring new cities, finding mountains, taking walks, drinking coffee, eating pastries, food, reading, flea markets, and meeting new people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Living in Europe opens the door to so many places, but expensive accommodation and the typical tourist-mode deter our wanderlust. We would love to use Couchsurfing to extend the reach of our travels, and enrich it by experiencing a new culture with new faces and the local mindset.

Music, Movies, and Books
Good beats and stories that lift my spirits, memoirs, historical fiction. Everyone I meet is horrified that I've never read the Harry Potter series, so I'm just starting the first book now. No spoilers please.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was first out of college, I took time to WWOOF (organic farm work exchange) in remote villages in County Cork, Ireland. The work was challenging, I was often out of my introverted comfort zone, and daily solo walks to the cliffside gave me the best perspective. Traveling alone is one of the best experiences of my life, and I encourage everyone to try it if they have the opportunity.
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy writing and humor, so sharing stories is great fun, and practice, for me. I've worked as a copy editor, and now as an TEFL teacher, and would be happy to edit and discuss English grammar. I look forward to learning about your culture, history, cuisine, and perspective.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Culture, positivity, and laughter. I'm happy to discuss all the interesting snippets of education, politics, art, the environment, travel, etc. Whether you are curious about life in the U.S., study and farming in Ireland, ESL in Hungary, or travel in Central Eastern Europe, I'm excited to share that with you!
