Overview
About Me
I'm Ashley - a twenty-something who loves traveling, cooking, photography, art and general adventuring. I've lived in the US, Spain, South Korea, and the Czech Republic—four very different places! I'm very open to meeting local people and am striving to make that a larger focus on my trips.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My best travel memories involve local experiences - discovering a neighborhood park, stumbling upon a hidden hotspot, etc. Speaking with residents always creates amazing memories - and leads to cool tips I'd otherwise never know! My hope is that Couchsurfing hosts can help point me in the right direction in cities across the world.
Interests
I'm interested in a lot of things - wildlife, photography, cooking, architecture, travel (of course!), and history. This is not an exhaustive list, by any means. :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
I love ska, punk, indie, classic rock (think hair metal!), and anything upbeat. I also have a soft spot for classical tunes - they make chores like vacuuming that much more epic.
Movies:
Weird Science, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Office Space, Coming to America, Amelie, Say Anything, High Fidelity... those are some of my top picks. I love going to the cinema and seeing whatever the next big thing is. I'm a sucker for special effects.
Books:
I'll read almost anything, and used to run a small book club at my office. Some of my faves are In Cold Blood, The Little Prince, anything by Neil Gaiman, almost anything by Stephen King, The Metamorphosis, A Little Princess, Shutter Island, and the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series. If it's a bit weird or a bit creepy, I'm probably a fan.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Waking up before the sun to watch the sunrise from a hot air balloon in Cappadocia, Turkey - that was pretty amazing!
Teach, Learn, Share
TEACH
Language skills - I used to teach English and would be happy to practice with others; I can also teach you to read in Korean in less than 40 minutes (seriously).
LEARN
I'd love to learn more about local culture, especially recipes, ghost stories, and "the little things." I'm also obsessed with languages and it'd be cool to learn some phrases!
