About Me

Where do I begin...I grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota but spent much of my childhood traveling around the United States since my father was in the United States Air Force. I guess that's where my love of traveling comes from. I have lived in Texas, Mexico, Florida, Ohio, Minnesota, and now reside in Titletown, USA (Green Bay, WI). I have lived in Green Bay for the past 5 years and came here for school. I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I decided to move to a Packer crazed nation. Originally being from Minnesota, I was raised to be a Vikings fan but have never really took a liking to that team. My mother was a Packers fan so I sort of followed in her footsteps when it came to cheering for a NFL team. My mother is also originally from Mexico and that's how I grew up learning how to speak Spanish. I absolutely love to travel and will always make an excuse to leave home, even if it's just for a couple of days. I hope to meet some interesting people and make long lasting memories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because this summer I plan to travel around Europe for two months and I heard some great things about this site through some friends who had gone through this process as well. I would rather couch surf and experience culture that way than to stay at a hotel or a hostel by myself sheltered from any potential cultural experience. Besides, who better knows the city than those who live there themselves.

Interests

I love sports! I enjoy playing Volleyball for Bar Leagues in the summer and for the school during the academic year. My favorite sports to watch are American Football (Packers), Hockey and Soccer. I am very passionate about helping others and being a mentor to youth who are in need of guidance. I actually go to school for Social Work and Spanish so I am always looking for volunteer opportunities or ways to become involved in the community. I'm also very into hiking, traveling, swimming, etc. I have recently become more fitness conscious and have taken a loving to working out and cooking healthy meals. But, that doesn't mean I don't love to indulge in sweets. Ultimately, I am not picky whatsoever and will try anything at least once.

Music, Movies, and Books

It generally depends on what mood I'm in. I love all types of music anything from House music to Classic Rock to (some) Rap. Most of the time, however, I listen to mellow tunes such as Milky Chance, MGMT, New Politics, Blink 182, etc. My all time favorite movie is Fight Club. I generally like movies that involve action, suspense, etc. I enjoy reading books that include historical references. For example: The Book Thief, Ghosts of Spain, The Hiding Place, Manson, etc. I also enjoy reading books with suspense otherwise known as "thrillers" such as Gone Girl.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2013 I went to study abroad in Spain. I didn't really have much money at the time but I really wanted to go so I pretty much saved as much as I could and went anyways. I wasn't able to visit countries that I really wanted to like Italy, Norway, Ireland, etc. I did, however, got to see Paris, Barcelona, Benidorm while living in Alicante, Spain but the main reason I am returning to Europe is because I feel like I left a part of my heart in Europe and want to see more of what it has to offer.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share not only my culture of living in the United States, but I can share a part of my Mexican culture as well. Though I have lived in the United States most of my life I make it a point to hold a strong cultural connection to my roots in Mexico. Speaking Spanish is something I can teach or share with you. As well as my love of sports and teaching you the importance of the Packers to the Green Bay natives :) I am very open and willing to share a part of my world with you.
