Overview
About Me
Hi I'm a Californian living in the Haut Jura region of France. I live here because I met my now french/swiss husband, Morgan, while traveling in New Zealand in 2018. During covid we decided to buy a house. Morgan is a carpenter so we bought an old ran down house and we are doing all of the work. In Saint-Claude we have a lot of people come through because they are backpacking or passing through in their van and if all you need is a shower and a place to sleep in a bed and to recover a bit, you are welcome. We have a beautiful terrace with grape vines above (and a gorgeous view) to eat/ have a drink or read on. We also have wifi.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing because I'd like to travel more on a small budget and have more unique and personal experiences and also to welcome other like minded and interesting people a place to stay, but most of all to bring some more magic and memories to the place we call our home 😊

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Paulo Coelho, Thich Nhat Hanh, steamy romance novels (yes, I know I'm lame 🤣)and also books learning about nature or herbalism
Music: honestly like pretty much every genre and I'm always on the lookout to discover new music. My main go-to genres are classical, jazz, soul, indie, country and rock.
Movies/Shows: My favorite directors are Wes Anderson and Tim Burton. I like old classic movies and musicals, romantic comedies, horror and thrillers, and artsy independent films. Right now I seem to be in a nostalgic phase as I'm watching movies and shows from the 80s/90s.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Skydiving, bungee jumping. Moving to France knowing absolutely no french and starting from zero.
Teach, Learn, Share
We can teach you how to identify some of our local mushrooms, plants, and trees. Morgan is better with the trees as he went to school for forestry management but I'm more knowledgeable for the herbs and such. I can show you around our many cascades and breathtaking views. I spend most of my free time wondering about in the forest so I know the area very well.
We also have a collection of board games, an electric dart board, and extra pétanque balls with a pétanque park just around the corner from us!
We have a nice size garden too if you are here during the right season we can enjoy some fresh veggies 😉
