ABOUT ME
I have spent the majority of my life within walking distance of the Pacific Ocean. Water is my favorite thing in the world and has played a significant part in making me the person that I am today. I love nothing more than to be in the ocean (rivers, lakes, and hot springs are nice too), it's where I am happiest and where I feel most at home. As a whole the environment is precious to me and I am passionate about conservation.
On the flip side, growing up in San Francisco, I am a city kid. I love to go out to bars and restaurants, see live shows, dance all night, and enjoy the buzz, energy, and creativity that city life brings.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in gratitude, service, compassion, and love.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 19 I spent the summer in China. An incredible experience in itself, our trip to Huangshan was magical. I was traveling with several other students from my Chinese class in Santa Barbara, a mishmash of people who despite the lack of a formal Chinese department or study abroad decided to go anyway.
All feeling young and strong we decided to have a race up the thousand plus steps to the top. After the initial acclimatization the climb wasn't so bad. It is hard to feel like you're struggling when men are hauling crates of soda on bamboo poles or carrying the wealthy in sedans. If the sheer strength of the workers didn't inspire you the overwhelming beauty of the mountains would.
I was lucky enough to make the climb on a beautiful sunny day with blue skies and wisps of clouds. I will never forget, after reaching a ridge late in the hike, I was greeted by hundreds of iridescent dragonflies. That moment took my breathe away. Pure magic.
Mysterious and alive, the Huangshan has been inspiring artist and poets for thousands of years. We were equally overcome and upon reaching the top found an isolated cliff where we recited haiku to the peaks below.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a certified yoga teacher and practice hatha flow and vinyasa. I have spent nearly all my life as a vegetarian and know a thing or two about maintaining a healthy diet while traveling. I have a background in the arts and am always eager to learn more and teach where I can.
I am always excited to learn new languages, photography, filmmaking, and software programs! I also would love to learn how to grow my own veggies in a city.
