About Me
CURRENT MISSION
We only have one life to live...let's go see what's out there and get involved!
ABOUT ME
I love science and have found my little niche currently in semiconductor quantum dots, which I interrogate with light and probes to take electronic measurements...muhaha. I still enjoy old episodes of NOVA and Cosmos that I grew up with as a kid. But as much as I'm a nerd, I go stir crazy if cooped up in lab for too long. The great outdoors keep me sane and in touch with the world. I can be a bit shy at first, but get comfortable pretty quickly when doing fun activities with a group or when my interest is peaked during a conversation.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is all about attitude. Events don't always happen according to your plan. But if you look at that as an unexpected adventure rather than allowing it to frustrate you, you will lead a much happier life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Activities mostly at this point. Have surfed some in Europe and hosted a little, but been traveling a lot.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I enjoy couch surfing particularly through activities. It's been a great way to find people who are open minded and want to interact with people outside their personal comfort zone. And you meet people from all over the world, even if you don't get a chance to visit every place yourself!
Interests
I enjoy things that pull me out of the routine of life and remind me that other perspectives and experiences exist. I suppose my life interests somewhat reflect that. I play guitar and was really into building and acquiring guitar pedals at one time. As a kid, my family had lots of animals, so, I can't imagine life without a pet. I grew up camping, hiking, and riding horses in both Texas and Colorado and embrace that opportunity whenever I can. I like healthy competition, such as playing some casual soccer with friends. I also enjoy good conversation about science or the human psyche. Some friends I met in Boulder introduced me to rock climbing in the summer of 2010, where I made my first ascent awkwardly in hiking boots, haha. I was hooked ever since.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Reaching the summit of my first fourteener in Colorado. The view of the world below and sensation of being at the top cannot be described in words.
Traveling around the southern island of New Zealand is another. Around every bend is an even more beautiful place.
Teach, Learn, Share
heh. I can talk your ear off about science, engineering, guitar pedals (and how to build one), summitting 14ers, and what it's like to live with farm animals.
