About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Traversing Europe / UK, 2012

ABOUT ME

Update: January, 2013. :)

After nearly 5 months abroad, I've returned back to the states and will be relocating to the PNW come February :)

---

I'm in love with that which is wholesome and beautiful in the world.

For me, that's:
Nature
Animals
Serenity
The Human Condition

---

The longer version of things:

Well, I am a tea lover, kettle chip slayer and a connoisseur of yummy tasting apple juices and I like deep bellied laughs, especially on cold nights because they help to keep me warm.

.
.
.
More officially, I'm a 29 year old full time conceptual portrait photographer & writer and a wanderlusting tumbleweed, who is absolutely in love with the road, trying to be on it as much as possible. I currently teach workshops to photographers, worldwide, as well as selling most of my imagery to the publishing industry for use on international book covers.

At this season of life, I'm in the early stages of a fulfilling a book deal as well as penning a piece of commercial literature.

When I'm not photographing, it's pretty common to find me at a tiny cafe, barefoot in a field somewhere, thrifting with friends or alone, spinning on old wooden floors, at my local farmer's market, buying baguettes, doing anything with animals, doing anything in nature, especially camping on the edge of the grid, or at some indi theatre, wide eyed, taking in good piece of new cinema. I adore films and the imagination. I'm also a sponge when it comes to learning.

I'm pretty much the most down to earth person you'll ever meet and am incredibly low key. I want to feel at home wherever I am and I want to give that feeling to other people.

"dream it you fucking dreamers"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This little filly is enjoying a bit of a travel high in 2012. I can't wait to host & give back to this community as it has done for me in 2012, as I surf(ed).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Completely love it. Have met more amazing people in a week than in a lifetime, some whose names I cannot remember and some who are lifelong friends, but CSing, thus far, has given me nothing but absolutely phenomenal and life changing experiences.

Interests

words, history, movies, travel, creativity (anything art related, espesh in the creation of it or endeavoring to do so), nature, people who aspire/amazing people, writing, reading, open minded, bookstores, new places, music, expression, kindness, compassion, animals, abandoned farmsteads, cities that sparkle in the night, rain, storms in general, the dust of old dirt roads, cooking, thrift stores, amazing little whole-in-the-wall restaurants, loose leaf tea, pens on paper, antique cameras, cobblestone, screaming into the fog, one way tickets.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Bright Star, Closer, Atonement, Dangerous Beauty, The New World. Any great comedy.

Music: I'm a fan of folk, bluegrass, indi, classical, any good dance beat. The more I've been abroad, I am becoming so interested in good house/techno music as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

*1) I remember being at the bottom of a glacier in Chamonix, French Alps, eating squash soup as the sun went down. Just a few friends around a campfire. It was incredible.

*2) spending 40 days in the Pacific Northwest, USA this last Spring (2012, living on the road, via train and car, sleeping on floors, buses, couches, tents and seeing everything from the rainforest to the vacant pacific coast beaches at high tide, as well as hiking 12 miles into the columbia river gorge and running behind a waterfall. A favorite moment was probably drinking tea in the rainforest in the silent fog with roosevelt elk just wandering around us.

*3) This one time in Old Town Geneva...What can I say. ;)
