Hello/Ciao/Guten Tag couchsurfing community!

Since graduating college in 2013, I have spent the last 2.5 years living and working abroad in Singapore and Italy. My abroad experiences have been absolutely incredible and I am looking to engage in a few more meaningful international exchanges before starting graduate school in August 2016!

Anyways, I recently drove across the US, visiting friends and hiking through National Parks, and I will soon be flying to and traveling around Europe and SE Asia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Simply I am couchsurfing because I love to meet, learn from, and interact with locals while traveling, especially as a solo traveler. I feel that staying with a couchsurfer adds an immersive element to a traveler's experience and creates an opportunity for cultural exchange.

In short, it's nice to make friends on the road =)

Interests

As an adventurous and health conscious person, I love the outdoors and being active! I am currently training for a marathon (will be running in the Stockholm Marathon June 4th) and am always looking to learn something new, whether it's learning to cook a new recipe, or learn a new language.

When traveling, I love to explore the area on foot, meet others, and try the craziest food I can find. While I am definitely a fast paced, cram-as-much-as-I-can-into-the-day kind of traveler, I also love to sit down with a stranger or friend, have a cup of coffee, and share life stories and travel experiences. I hope through couchsurfing that I can engage in good conversation, learn from a wide range of people, and walk away with a good story to share.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

*Traveled across China along the Silk Road from Shanghai to Kyrgyzstan
*Learned to spell Kyrgyzstan
*Climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro/Mt Fuji and hiked to Annapurna BC
*Escaped a flash flood in Northern Australia
*Gone swimming with bioluminescent plankton (obsessed)
*Got scuba certified!
*Have seen the Northern Lights and the Big Five!
*Road tripped around the US, Mongolia, Iceland, and New Zealand!
