I am a New Jersey girl recently back from 7 years living (and hosting couchsurfers!) in California. I like to swim in the ocean, cook, read, and play volleyball!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that exchange of hospitality is such a beautiful thing. As a host, I love the idea that I can be an ambassador for my city or country and leave people with really good impressions and happy memories. Also, when hosting travelers from very far away, who may be nervous or lonely, I love providing them with the security of a real friendship with someone local. As a guest, I think it's a way to really get to know the place you're visiting on a deeper level. I love meeting people from all over the country and world, making new friends and having fun experiences together. In addition to hosting many couchsurfers, I've also couchsurfed coast-to-coast!

Music, Movies, and Books

Most of my favorite books are children's books: The Little Prince, Ender's Game, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.

Also: Housekeeping, The Brothers Karamazov, Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, The Adventures of Augie March, Jane Eyre, Persepolis, A Confederacy of Dunces, Pride and Prejudice. Pride and Prejudice is also my favorite movie! (The BBC miniseries version).
