About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Break out of the mold. Be happy. Spread joy. - You don't have to live an average life.

ABOUT ME

You can pretty much sum me up as a ball of sunshine and happiness. :D I am very agreeable, super non-confrontational, and down with almost anything. I love new people and places, and I thrive on change.

I grew up in a small town in Texas, and after I graduated, I lived in Austin for 6 amazing years studying at UT and partying my face off with some awesome people. A year after graduating, I reunited with an old flame, and now we travel the world together. <3

As for some interesting fun facts, I'm a red-headed step-child, I love chocolate, I don't like odd numbers, I hate balled up napkins, and I can make my tongue into the shape of a bathtub. Ask me sometime.

PHILOSOPHY

Strive to make others smile. Love wholeheartedly. Live with purpose. Embrace change. Be compassionate. Be daring.

"Life isn't about finding yourself. It's about creating yourself."

"[Don't] choose [your] path out of fear disguised as practicality."

"There is no passion to be found in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living."

"Either write something worth reading about, or do something worth writing about."

"Your life is an occasion. Rise to it."

"The very meaninglessness of life forces man to create his own meaning."

"If you can find a path with no obstacles, it probably doesn't lead anywhere."

"The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday."

"The grass is greener where you water it."

"A ship in port is safe, but that’s not what ships are built for."

"You only lose what you cling to."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf! I would love to host someday too. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am relatively new to couchsurfing, but the experiences I have had with it have been amazing. My other half traveled for 3 years straight using couchsurfing before we reunited, and he introduced me to it. I've been traveling the world with him since!

So far I have couchsurfed in New Orleans, Colorado, Barcelona, London, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Venice, and Munich, and I've had mostly fantastic experiences. I love meeting and partying with new people!

Interests

Partying! Raving. Adventuring. Exploring. Camping. Hiking. Nature in general. Hooping. Skiing. Mind altering experiences. Lucid dreaming. Outer space. Yoga. Cats. Dinosaurs... I love dinosaurs.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies:
My favorite movie of all time is Moulin Rouge, hands down. A close second is Boondock Saints, and I love any movie with Leonardo Dicaprio or Jim Carrey in it.
I absolutely love watching horror movies. Love it.
Comedies are also rad.

Music:
I like an oddly wide array of music. Literally.
Everything from Celine Dion, (who I am in love with,) to The Beatles, Rise Against, Streetlight Manifesto, African tribal music, and everything in between. I love sharing as well as discovering new kinds of music.
I also love to dance, especially when I've had a few drinks in me... so get ready.

Books:
While I really enjoy reading, I don't do as much of it as I wish I did. When I do read, I prefer fiction. I enjoy losing myself in stories. I LOVE Dean Koontz, and one of my favorite books is Deception Point by Dan Brown.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Done: I was once at the FRONT of the huge parade in Disney World when I was in color guard.
Also, after only three months of selling knives, I was the #7 salesperson in Texas and Oklahoma combined. So that's pretty neat. :)

Seen: Cirque Du Soleil (front row!) while in Los Angeles. FANTASTIC.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a few random skills that are of no practical use, but are super cool nonetheless.
I also love teaching. :)

I can solve a Rubik's Cube, as well as a Megaminx (which is essentially a 12 sided Rubik's cube.) I've taught before and I can do it again!
I love to hula hoop.
I am experienced in color guard, and I can do some neat stuff with a flag, a rifle, and a sabre.
I can also ski, and I do really good cartwheels. :)

Things I want to learn:
- German
- How to surf!
- Calligraphy
- More piano
