My family is originally from the Dominican Republic and so I became very accustomed to the culture of the hospitality mindset of "Mi Casa, Tu Casa" from a very young age. I'm a big believer of the fact there is always something you have to give and there is always space for a friend or guest, even if its on the couch or air mattress. Sharing food, space and culture with others openly and lovingly is a part of who I am and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I currently live and teach English in the beautiful town of Cesena, Italy in Emilia Romagna, a region rich with culture, beautiful landscape from mountains to the sea, and incredible food!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why not?! Many of my friends who have used CS have only ever told me of their wonderful experiences. I think it's a beautiful way to meet new people and discover a new place in good company. A completely different and more personal experience than staying in a hotel that allows you to connect with people that can help guide you through their city during your stay and vice versa. I've used airbnb many a times in the past when traveling through the USA and Europe and have shared a space with incredible hosts, some of whom I still keep in touch with to this day. What better way to stay?!

Interests

I love anything that has to do with the outdoors. I try my best to stay pretty active and do a bit of biking, swimming and yoga. I also enjoy reading, playing my ukulele, cooking/eating good food. I can be the most content person in the world conversing over a warm cup of coffee or nice wine. But I also love spontaneous adventuring because sometimes the most beautiful moments are the ones you least expect.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love many different kinds of music but I must say the ones that hit the heart are good classic soul, and Latin American music. My constant go-to these days (to name a few) are Sam Cooke, Leon Bridges, Natalia Lafourcade, Raphael Saadiq, Miriam Makeba.... I could go on.
