About Me
CURRENT MISSION
ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in Upstate (very rural) New York and lived in Portland, Maine for seven years. I am now living in the Washington DC area to get more involved in policy work.
I'm very active in social justice issues and politics. When not at work or volunteering on campaigns, I am most fulfilled when traveling (obviously), camping, and exploring nature. I also love love love to play volleyball!
PHILOSOPHY
I believe people are naturally good and are worthy of dignity and respect. I feel that we can all learn and grow by opening up our hearts and minds to new experiences and new people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I participate to meet new people and experience things I wouldn't get from a guide book. I feel the best way to get to know a city and culture is to experience it through the locals who live there. I've made great friends through CS and hope to make many more.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted a handful of guests, met up with fellow CSers in town and at gatherings in Europe, and have been hosted in Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest, all over Spain, Munich, and Salzburg.

Dancing in the rain in Sekondi, Western Ghana - I had the amazing opportunity of helping out at a couple of health clinics in Ghana in 2010. While there, I met some of the kindest and most beautiful people I will likely ever meet. I've become close friends with so many of them, and am hoping to go back soon.
