About Me

Kia ora! I'm a kiwi that's trying his best to fly and explore the world. My partner Rebecca and I share this account to host and stay with couchsurfers together, it's a pretty good two for one deal!

Our interests include history, art, music, languages (especially me!), cooking, and so much more. We try our best to be easy going and make the most of the opportunities we get. We're not worried about spending every second with potential hosts - we get that life is busy or sometimes it just doesn't work like that, we're perfectly happy to do our own thing if that's what works for you. Of course we also love guided tours if that's more your style!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We've used couchsurfing for a few years now and made some fantastic friends, now we'd like to use our trip as a way to experience life as couchsurfers on the couch, instead of offering one. Basically we want to keep creating more memories of some great times with lovely people wherever possible.

Interests

We're both into a wide variety of stuff - mutual interests Rebecca and I share include history, music, cooking, films and shows, comedy, and of course adorable animals (she likes rabbits best, I like cats)

Rebecca is also into cooking, fitness, makeup & skincare, and we both dabble in a little gardening if feeling brave.

I love languages and linguistics, art, technology, theatre, and politics, amongst other things.

We currently live on our own and would like to begin hosting again now the world is beginning to reconnect.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love pretty much any music, but especially love stuff with a strong rhythm and good lyrics. Books wise I'm rereading Terry Pratchett's Discworld series. Later on I'd love to look into stuff from further afield but this list keeps me busy for now!

We also love watching good films together, especially ones with beautiful aesthetics - many of my favourites at the moment have come from Laika Studios (Kubo and the Two Strings, ParaNorman, etc.) and period shows - Rebecca loves The Crown and Peaky Blinders, and I'm totally in love with Babylon Berlin and The Last Kingdom.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a week in Fiji a while ago - snorkelling off a reef and being circled by fish of all sizes and colours like your own little shield was simply amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

We are champion pub quizzers and all around nerds! I absolutely believe you will always learn something off another person if you give the time to do so. As for what we can teach, a bit if languages, some cooking, and hopefully a lot about humour

What I Can Share with Hosts

We make a mean dream team in the kitchen, and we'd love to share some home-cooked meals with you!
