CURRENT MISSION

I'm moving to Austin for a position with Texas Conservation Corps. Until I start receiving pay I cannot afford housing, so I'm hoping so helpful people might put me up for the weekend, or for up to 4 days between hitches until I can afford my own actual place.

ABOUT ME

I've only left the US once (Spring 2014) for a Semester of school abroad. I love to travel, though. I've seen all of Western US except for Hawaii, as well as a few states East of the Mississippi. My family lives all over Texas, but I have no one in Austin.

PHILOSOPHY

Open to all religions, belief systems, and lifestyles, and more than happy to learn about them ALL! I love people, and culture, and the way people interact. I wanna learn and experience everything I can about different cultures and religions. I believe that everyone's beliefs deserve respect whether I specifically agree with them or not.
Personally the forest is my church in a big way. I hope to eventually get a permanent position working for the Forest Service or similar company/program. If possible a job that allows me to travel the world for work would be ideal

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined the site, after hearing about it from some friendly hitchhikers in a Hostel in Salzburg, Austria. I plan to find a new home in Austin that will allow me to be on the hosting side of this! This is a fabulous concept to help people meet each other all over the world, and I'm excited to become part of the community! =)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only actually stayed with one person in London, but hopefully I can meet more people soon. Once I have my own place I'd happily host.

Interests

I love the wilderness and Languages!! I studied German, and Linguistics in MT, USA. The way that language has evolved and they are connected to each other, and comparing the acquisition of speech when a child in different situations/locations... I could rant for hours about Linguistics =)

Music, Movies, and Books

KING! Love me some mystery sci-fi books. Also really loved catch 22 and All Quiet on the Western Front. Fabulous books.
I love almost all kinds of music, and am always willing to try new ones.
As for TV/Movies, I prefer "smart comedy", things that make you think, and sci-fi. That being said Mel Brooks is probably the only to person I could safely say has NOT ever made a movie I disliked lol. (At least that I've seen)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My friend flies small aircraft, and took me for several solo flights!
Got lost in Berlin in the middle of the night on a Wednesday. Literally walked my shoes to death! haha. Best "bad night" ever!
