Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To dabble in adventure and make friends along the way.
ABOUT ME
Introverted but adventurous. Liberal-minded city-dweller, but a small town girl at heart. I love to experience new places in a way that makes them my own. Most of the time, this means a lot of walking, and a lot of coffee. I always bring a book, but often leave it closed in favor of watching the world go by.
These days, my adventures are with my wife Tiffany. We just bought a house in Calgary, and hope to fill it with stories, laughter, and food with fellow adventurers. We are pretty low-key people, and offer a relaxed environment. You are more likely to find us enjoying a backyard campfire, and less likely to find us tearing up the dance floor late into the night.
Our place is in a residential location close to downtown. We are happy to provide bedding, pillows, and towels for guests to use. We prefer to host guests for one or two nights, but might be able to do three nights sometimes. If you are looking for longer term accommodations (a week or more), we could talk about rooms we have that you could rent.
If you want to know more about what I am up to, I write about my favourite adventures at latitudelegends.com.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I spent a good number of years travelling as much as I could. I have settled down in Calgary, but still love to travel as much as I can. My current travel ambition is to hike to the source of the Ganges.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have participated in Couchsurfing as both a host and a surfer. Staying with local people is my favourite way to travel, and I am happy to offer the same kind of experience to others when I am at home. I know what it's like to travel on a tight budget, and like to help others in their own travel and adventure goals.
I am more inclined to find a tenting site than I am to invite myself to sleep on someone's couch, but I place high value on connectedness, and am looking forward to getting to know more people in the places I visit. I am a community builder in my working life, and would like to live and travel in a way that encourages a global community. Let's work together, talk about life, and change the world!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
For our honeymoon, my wife and I hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon via Hermit Creek Trail. The canyon is a much different place at the bottom!
Teach, Learn, Share
In my working life, my job is to bring people together to help build a strong and healthy community, despite the various barriers to these aims. I believe that this work is of great value in the way we work together as global citizens. I would love to share my community building experiences with others along the way.
I am a native English speaker, have basic Spanish skills, and am very slowly learning French and Japanese.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Would love to treat hosts to a meal, listen to great Canadian music, and talk about anything fun and interesting.
