Overview
About Me
I'm a 21-year-old American student currently studying abroad in England for a semester. While I'm here, I really want to travel and see new parts of the world. I'm really easy going. I know when to have a structured plan but also when to be flexible. I obviously love traveling. I do enjoy taking in new cultures, food, but also meeting new people. I know that the friendships I make along the way are a little fleeting, but I've learned something new from each person I've met. I met a Chinese girl in Berlin who discussed gender issues in her country with me, and I've met a German man who taught me a lot about helping others. I'll probably never see those people again in my life, but they've taught me things that will ultimately make me a better person. Geeze, that got sappy. I should probably write for Hallmark or become a formula writing like Nicholas Sparks. Kidding.
Sadly, English is the only language I'm fluent in. But I'm willing to give learning another language a try!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To have a nice place to stay, and make a few friends along the way. I love meeting people who are from different backgrounds, and can give me a new perspective on the world.
Interests
I'm interested in writing. I plan on becoming a journalist when I graduate from college. Currently, I write a blog for my school newspaper about my travels abroad. At home, I also freelance for a local paper that I interned for.

Music, Movies, and Books
My taste in music has a wide range. I'll listen to anything from Beyonce to old-school jazz.
My favorite movie is the French film Popularie. But I'll probably have a new favorite film next month!
My favorite book right now is The Awakening by Kate Chopin. But as I read more books, I'm sure I'll find a new favorite to hold onto.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my articles was once quoted in The Washington Post. If you want to know more about that, you'll just have to get to know me :)
