Journey to Oregon...and see where life takes me.

Well that happened so now I'm travelling with my boyfriend around the US in a truck camper :D
ABOUT ME

I graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University. I want to go out West and potentially stay out this way for awhile as I have spent my entire life living in Ohio (except for a brief stint in Ecuador). I feel that if I don't do it now I am going to be stuck in Ohio. forever. I would love to find work on farms or homesteads as I am making my way to Oregon and meet people that are excited about permaculture, organic farming, and/or beekeeping! I was traveling with my dog, Bubbe, who is a 12 year old Boston Terrier as well as my soul mate. She is currently staying at my parents in Ohio so she won't be along for the ride this time around.

PHILOSOPHY

I like to live my life by the golden rules of "treat others as you wish to be treated" and, as my dad always says, "if you do it right the first time you won't have to do it again or as often." I tend to live my life by "karma chips" based on my actions and/ or what good or bad thing has happened to me, if that makes any sense at all...I want to live my life as a steward to the environment and to help others preserve the beauty of our planet.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am looking for hosts as I make my way around the country. I will be making my way around the southwest. Once I am set up in Oregon or elsewhere I would love to become a host!

Interests

I tend to work a lot, but when I am not working I can be quite the busy body. Always looking for something to be done or getting tired of it all and collapsing in a cuddle puddle with Bubbe. I like to rock climb, trail run, hike, hang out with friends, make and eat tasty foods, BANANAGRAMS! or Scrabble. I'm up for pretty much anything, hence this spontaneous Oregon Trail trip and southwest roadtrip.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies:
Avatar, Chicago, Law Abiding Citizen, Taken, Into the Wild, most documentaries (Queen of the Sun). I love those movies that just encompass a bunch of genres like an action-comedy-thriller-mystery. I am also one of those people that likes subtitles :)

Shows (not that I get to watch any of them lately):
The Office, Workaholics, New Girl, Friends

Music:
The Lumineers, Wild Child, Nahko Bear and Medicine for the People, Walk Off the Earth, Imogen Heap, Ingrid Michealson, The Black Keys, Zee Avi, The Avett Brothers
I like a pretty broad range of music depending on my mood. Most of the time, if it gets me dancing, I like it

Books:
I haven't really read anything besides what consumed my time during college but mostly enjoyed books from my anthropology classes such as "The Old Way" and "Navajos Wear Nikes."
I enjoy mysteries (Agatha Christie "And then there were none", sci fi, thrillers, short stories, etc

I'm pretty open to recommendations.

Food:
I've been a vegetarian for 8 years and I'm a BIG FAN of any type of ethnic food really.

I pretty much just love food and trying new edibles.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in Ecuador for 3 months, research in the Galapagos, interned on a farm for a week, and then lived off the grid on a reserve for 2 months. TOo many things to describe, overall= Best. Life. Choice. Ever.
