About Me
CURRENT MISSION
shelter, fire, water, food -- sustainably, with community
ABOUT ME
I'm a dreamer and an idealist. I often get caught up in my own imaginings and then do whatever it takes to make them reality. I am very broke, but want to travel and participate in programs like WWOOF. My current method of travel requires 'x' amount of dollars, but my goal is to significantly cut my costs. I'm continually trying to reduce, both for simplicity and frugality.
In my personal life, I have a acquired a new-found sense of liberty, and from that I feel the constant need to pursue adventure. I feel driven to push my limits and expand the realm of possibility. With time and experience, I believe my drive and passions will become more stable and centered, but as a 'youth' I do not apologize for the current way I approach life.
PHILOSOPHY
My life philosophy is that we all need five things in life: shelter, water, fire, food, and community. We all must obtain these things to survive, both physically and emotionally, and we must obtain them in a way that is in concord with the cycle of the earth and the balance of nature. I believe that industrialization and the move towards massive corporations have disrupted this balance, and in effect, have put our home, the earth, at risk.Having drawn this conclusion, I have pursued an alternative lifestyle, outside the norms of modern society. Currently, I am looking for farm opportunities through organizations such as WWOOF, NOFA, Apprentice Link, and the like. These experiences will mold my education. I hope to find farms with sustainable practices, that are focussed on reducing their impact on the earth.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far, I've only participated by filling out my profile and adding some contacts. I'm a bit of a nomad. (Though I have an address on my driver's license, I've never actually lived there.)
Interests
I hope to become adept in the methods of permaculture/natural farming, bee-keeping, mead making, home brewing, herbal remedies and salves, natural building, water harvesting, animal husbandry, canning and preserving, and making delicious meals.I have also taken an interest in wilderness survival skills. I believe that the aforementioned skills mixed with wilderness survival / primitive living skills could equip a community to be completely sustainable.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was a little girl of elementary age my dad worked at a carpet and flooring warehouse. Tall stacks of large shelving lined the walls. One day he had me climb the stacks till I reached the very top. I looked down at him from what seemed like such a great height. He appeared so much smaller than before. He yelled, "Jump, I will catch you." I trusted him. I jumped, and he caught me. Even now, I continue to climb to new heights of whims, fancy, and ideals. I then plunge myself fully into them, testing their viability. If they catch me, they're worth keeping. If not, I drop'em.
