About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live in the moment, not worry too much about what's to come, and enjoy life
ABOUT ME
I work in English Language Teaching, which is a great job as it gets me around the world, meeting lots of new people along the way :-)
I'm quite a shy person at first but I very quickly get a feeling for people and places; once you get to know me (which doesn't take very long as I'm very open and honest, perhaps too much) I'm a nice guy. Very relaxed about things but well organised. I enjoy the little things in life, like drinking coffee with a newspaper on a sunny morning outside on a terrace, walking home after a party with friends while watching the sunrising.

Interests
I really enjoy spending lots of time in a place and prefer living in somewhere rather than visiting it for a short time, because this way I get to notice all the small details, the little things that characterise a city or town.
Very often I enjoy the journey more than the destination; I feel alive when I'm travelling.
I feel at my very best when I'm with people, doing things; that could be as simple as drinking coffee together, partying or visiting a museum.
I love jazz music; my heart melts when I hear jazz sung in Portuguese.
I'm a blogger. I blog about Teaching and Learning on ELT at www.eltblog.net
My academic interest is linguistics, particularly historical linguistics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It had been snowing for weeks in Dresden. I got on a Lufthansa flight back to the UK. When the plane cleared the clouds and reached cruising level, I was listening to a great album by a Chilean artist called Zenet, had a glass of red wine in my hands and was looking out at the sun for what felt like the first time in forever. The glow of the winter sun after weeks of snow, it's a sigh I'll never forgot, to music that I'll never forget.
