About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Shake off the bonds of inhibition.

ABOUT ME

Best expressed by Pink Floyd lyrics, I truly am "an earth-bound misfit"

I'm part lilliputian leprechaun and my friends call me lumberjane due to the obscene amount of flannel that I wear. I enjoy writing raps and poems of the absurd variety. I am preposterously chipper in the morning. Often you can find me tap dancing in the line at the market, honing my grilled cheese making skills, or staging Happenings in the park.

When I grow up I want to be a rockstar/secret agent/archaeologist/actress/historian/dancer, but have yet to decide whether or not I will ever move out of my treehouse in Never Neverland (the hammock is just too comfy).

PHILOSOPHY

"Wherever you go, go with all of your heart".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted a rainbow of nomadic persons, spent many a late night listening to tantalizing tales of their travels, and shenaniganing. While venturing about Europe I've had the privilege of surfing some fantastic peoples' couches.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosting allowed me to discover parts of my city that I never would have otherwise, while surfing has broadened my international vocabulary; I can say "cheers" in several languages now :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: All of it. Seriously. Currently, I'm obsessed with Bomba Estereo

Movies: Coming in the top 3 are A Clockwork Orange, The Princess Bride, and Star Wars Episode V. I'm always in the mood for Mel Brooks or the Coen Brothers and can occasionally be persuaded into watching ridiculous Judd Apatow creations, though it might cost you a cookie.

Books: Anything dystopian, morose, wacky, trippy, uplifting, tragic, stream of consciousness, classical, philosophical, depraved, supernatural, historical, fictitious or (auto)biographical.

On my nightstand: Writing and Difference by Jacques Derrida

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It feels as though I should write something epic and beautiful like, "I saw a horse give birth to a foal; it was magical". By striving to appreciate the nuances of life, I find amazing things in all I encounter.

Teach, Learn, Share

Simply giddy to teach/share what I have gleaned in my brief existence on the planet, including several (mostly) useless talents, such as: folding paper cranes, tap dancing, and making toad in a hole.

I want to learn everything, but especially how to play the djembe.

If you surf with me you should bring a joke with you. I will certainly send you on your way with some!

Countries I’ve Visited
