About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To bike to and around as many places as possible!

ABOUT ME

I am an adventurer and explorer myself who is looking to pay back the traveler's karma from all the wonderful things people have done for me on the road! I am a biker/cyclist, feminist, activist, environmentalist, dreamer, organizer, poet, queer, farmer, and full-hearted soul. I love few things more than riding my bike, it feels like my home and my happy place. In 2010 I spent 2 months traveling in Central America and in 2011 I spent about 5 months traveling the United States, "hitch-biking". In 2012 I spent 3 months in Brazil learning about sustainable agriculture and social movements. I really love new adventures and meeting new people; there is so much to learn from both!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have mostly participated thus far as a surfer but would love love love to finally host some people to pay back my traveler's karma and to show people around my stomping grounds!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have loved CouchSurfing and all the great people, experiences, and friendships I've found through it! I really love couch surfing experiences that allow a little bit of time to hang out and share stories about your home, your place, your locale. It's really the best way to learn about a place.

Interests

When I'm not traveling, I really love riding my bike, gardening, and organizing! I am a bit of a city homesteader with backyard chickens, bees, gardens-- I love new projects and gaining skills!

I'm also really passionate about justice and worker-co-ops. As a founder and worker-owner at a local co-op I spend a lot of time trying to create new models for justice, democracy, workplaces, and autonomy. My goal is to help more and more people start co-ops and create democratic workplaces.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I have ever done was biking down the west coast of the US. It was absolutely gorgeous watching the sun set over the ocean every night as we headed south!

Another moment I was absolutely awestruck was hiking up a volcano on Isla de Ometepe in Nicaragua. What a surreal moment standing next to this enormous volcano on a beautiful island! Talk about feeling small!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share knowledge, information, skills and/or my own creations on: community organizing, bike riding & maintenance, poetry, climate change/environmental issues. I can share eggs and vegetables and maybe honey!

I would love to learn: how to cartwheel, capoeira, history, more language skills, etc...

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer a couch or futon, a kitchen, a laundry machine, stories, quality garden or animal time, great knowledge about good sights to see in Providence, connection to a Pedicab tour company
