My name is Ashton Keck and I currently live in South Dakota. I am an adventurous woman who wants to see and experience just about every place, person, and thing! I am an extremely active person who loves to hike, practice yoga, run with my pit bull pup, preform aerial silks, and learn new sports such as rock climbing, surfing, and snow boarding. When I travel, I like to explore new places and people. I am less of the party type girl and more of the adventurous type. I would prefer to hike the tallest mountain, trudge volcanoes, or swim through the deep sea than be at a club or a bar. I want to meet people, hear their stories, and eat their grub (although I am a vegan so that can put a damper on things)! I hope to find some people to learn from as well as to be able to share what I have learned in return.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am couch surfing as a way to take the road less traveled. I do not want to be trapped in the tourist trap! I want to learn from the locals and help others who come my way avoid the trap as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all sorts of music. From what I have been exposed to I like a lot of alternative and punk. I also enjoy bits from genres such as blues, indie, rock, bluegrass, and folk. I am not a big country or pop fan.
My favorite books are memoirs and I do not watch very many movies. I actually don't even own a TV.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I think one of the greatest things about couchsurfing is that whether we are the host or the surfer, we all meet new people. As a surfer, I do not have much material things to offer. I have my time and my heart to help out with whatever needs to be done. But the main thing I have to offer is friendship. It is great to make new friends with the hope of some day being able to return the favors that others have done for me.
