ABOUT ME

I have recently started travelling and my goal is to see as many interesting places as I can, while also meeting people from different cultures. I like seeing other peoples outlook on life, and enjoy listening and learning. Life is short, and how can you really know what this life has to offer if you don't go out in search of knowledge.

Update: I have now been to 31 countries, many more than once. Not a lot compared to most of you, but my passion for traveling is stronger than ever. I prefer advice from locals as compared to Google recommendations. If I can offer any travel tips in my country, or places I have visited, I will gladly do so, and look forward to what you may have to share with me.

If you are someone local who needs a place to stay for a few days, that's not what this is about. This is a forum to meet fellow travelers, share stories, and share hospitality. It is not for taking advantage of people. I don't mean to be negative, but I have recently had to deny several requests that did not align with what the couchsurfing community is about.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is short and every minute counts. Don't sit back and let life pass you by... Go fast when you need to, and slow down when need-be.... the point is that you don't miss out, and can appreciate everything for what it is. There are ups and downs in life, but find hapiness in the middle taking the good with the bad. Love, Laugh, and Live!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I first became familiar with couchsurfing years ago from people I met through my travels. The concept of people inviting you into not only their homes, but their lives is something that says a lot about humanity. As of now I haven't surfed, but have met some incredible people. I intend to contribute to the community, and look forward to sharing stories and experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

Just about every type of music... in any genre I can find something that I like... good is good whether it's gaelic, rock, classical, hip-hop, jazz, oldies, electronic.....etc.

There are too many movies that I love... but some of my favorites are 'Click' 'Ghandi' 'Groundhog day' 'Liar Liar' 'Empire of the Sun' 'Four Feathers'... and many many more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went to Russia for the world cup. While there my hired car from Kazan to Samara canceled last minute (a 5 1/2 hour drive) and some students I met the night before who wanted to practice their English drove me and my friend so that we could make it to our match the next day. Was following Colombia and they won!
