Interests

I love everything new! Things that are fun, or scary, or challenging, anything that gets me reaching for new ways of thinking and solving problems, anything that deepens my understanding of life and people. I am a wildland firefighter, a photographer, a runner, a new, but enthusiastic, climber and kayaker. And I love people. Every person has their own unique strengths and quirks, and I enjoy getting the chance to get to know all of the different people that I come across along my various paths, to see, even if it's only for a few moments, what the world looks like from someone else's eyes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are many moments throughout every day that make me feel a little awestruck, lucky to live the life I have, but... Walking up a fireline toward a ridge, the sky red with light reflecting off of smoke. Reaching the top of the ridge and looking down at a valley below me filled with fire. A sunset over Milford Sound. A deeply honest moment that took me off guard with a friend I hadn't seen in a long time.
