COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Was told about 'the project' at the start of my travels in LA by someone lovely... tried it out in Wellington, New Zealand and had a great first experience. I then met a veritable horde of great people in Singapore, travelling with one particular good soul up to KL. I met someone rather delightful in Shanghai, and after becoming smitten I have now moved here permanently to be with her.

Music, Movies, and Books
I can talk about music endlessly - music lovers are more than welcome to engage me on the subject. I enjoy most genres - especially electronic music. Lately I have been listening to a lot of music from the area I grew up, a music community given the name 'dubstep'. I also have a soft spot for house, rocksteady and anything quirky.
I don't tend to have the concentration to read much fiction, and usually read random bits from wikipedia, finding short facts as morish as a bowl of peanuts. Winne the Pooh holds a nostalgic place in my heart; 'The Prophet' by Kahil Gibran and 'Siddhartha' by Herman Hesse are short and sweet; and although old, I can't recommend 'The Age of Kali' by William Dalrymple enough, especially for travellers to India. Right now I am reading a guide to music composition, and sporadically dipping in to Paul Theroux's 'The Iron Rooster'.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Doing my Advanced Scuba course and doing a night dive when my instructor and i were circled by a reef shark!
Flying in a light aeroplane above Fraser Island, Australia and watching whales in the ocean.
The Genocide Museum in Phnom Penh, along with Hiroshima, are perhaps the most moving and shocking places I have visited.
Angkor in Cambodia and Ellora in India are possibly the most awe inspiring.
And although a girl might be at the heart of it, Shanghai is the city I have come back to stay.
