About Me

"If you want to go fast, go alone. I you want to go far, go together" - Read this somewhere.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Random strolls through my neighbourhood | Impromptu trip to a new destinations | Sit idly in front of nature and engross its beauty | Meeting people from different cultural backgrounds/nations and indulging in lengthy conversations | Taking macro-photographs of the eye of a common fly to landscape photographs of nature | Spend an evening reminiscing with friends | Learn through experiences(mine and others) and share it with others |

So these are some of the things I end up doing on a daily basis. Most of the adventures that I have indulged in are to stay outside my Comfort Zone. Participating in volunteer work at a re-forestation camp in Pondicherry was my first test of the Comfort Zone Challenge(I'll tell you more when we meet). After one year, I participated in a National Himalayan Expedition for a 10-day trek to Deo Tibba peak(13,500ft).

Pss.. I already sold my kidney to pay for the account verification, don't make me do it again to find a room.

Living in Germany, I find this to be a perfect opportunity to travel and explore the beauty of the European continent, not just by going to places and meeting new people but also by welcoming travelers to my apartment in Dresden. I was born and brought up in "Gods Own Country" - Kerala(South India). Being a polyglot I can easily mingle with others.

Besides enjoying spicy food, I am currently exploring the art of cooking itself. I would love to learn how to bake like the French, make pasta like the Italians and drink beer like the Germans. And so much more! I try to be optimistic(sometimes funny) and am a constant learner of life.

I love recording the beautiful moments of my life. Give me a camera and drop me off anywhere while the sun sets over the horizon(that's best lighting to take photographs). Follow me on Insta - @extraterrestrialfreak

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and find Couchsurfing to be a budget travelers best option. I find it to be a win-win situation, since we get to meet people through hosting as well as being their guest.

Wouldn't you plan to stay at your relative's or friend's house if you are new to a country. I find CS as a platform where all travelers are united as a family. The traveler is able to learn from the locals who live there rather than exploring the country on their own(which is also good experience)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I love A.R. Rahman's music and I still listen to ABBA. I believe music has no boundaries and listen to all kinds of music. Tried "Hard Rock" music, not a big fan.

"Into the Wild" - Jon Krakauer | He mentions in his book about how taking a flight to reach a destination is cheating. Now that is the kind of experience I look out for while travelling.

Movies: I watch a loooot of movies, the ones I love are "Man from Earth, 12 Angry Men, I Am Legend, Wild, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara", etc etc and also some feel good entertainers like "Secret Life of Walter Mitty"

TV Series - F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is an obvious answer, I've also watched Seinfeld. Then the top watched ones such as GOT, Walking Dead, Black Mirror, etc etc

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

# National Himalayan Trekking Expedition(10 Day trek)
# Volunteered in a Reforestation Camp at Pondicherry (a French colony in Southern India)
# Decided to live in Europe
More about each when we meet =)

Teach, Learn, Share

During my undergraduate studies, I have sought out opportunities to teach Science to the underprivileged children of a small village in Tamil Nadu(a Southern Indian state). Since I have recently arrived in Europe, I am yet to find out such opportunities to contribute to the society.

I am an excellent listener. I don't know if that helps, but anyways.
