I am a doctoral researcher in Finland working on DNA nanotechnology. I'm from Chennai, India and like traveling and hiking. I am still learning to capture the moments that I see in photographs. I love animals, especially dogs.

My first travel out of India was to Taiwan in May 16 and later to Germany in Jan 17 before moving to Finland in Nov 17. Why Finland, you ask? I ask the same question every winter.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to meet new people and experience new cultures. Back in the days, India used to be so open to travelers, that we used to construct a place for them to stay. I would like to experience how it is to travel that way. Also that I wanna know of local culture and places to visit, which I cannot get from internet and can only be known from locals.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite books would be Sapiens, Art of War, Surely you must be joking Mr. Feymann among others.

I am quite open about music and movies. There are several tons of movies I like but I am not so open to horror movies however. My not so popular favorite movies would be Cloud Atlas, Prestige, World war Z and Inglorious bastards. But that doesn't mean I am not a fan of star wars, LOTR and Marvel/DC movies (Yeah, I like them both).

I do watch a lot of series. My favorite would be How I met your mother. Other series I loved were GoT, White collar, Person of interest, Friends (ofcourse), Brooklyn 99, Modern Family, Money Heist, all DC series,BBT, Sherlock, among others.

I can't place something as amazing. It's just perspective.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach my language- Tamil (one of the oldest languages) and some south Indian dishes (definitely the non-spicey ones). Also could teach to land some Muay thai combos.
I would like to learn some music instrument or new languages.
I can share stories about Indian culture and history.
