Overview
About Me
Quick bio:
I am a dual French-American citizen who grew up in the French Alps. I am hooked on outdoor activities, specifically mountaineering, biking, and ultimate frisbee! I have lived in five different countries (France, Russia, USA, India, Norway, Austria) and travelled in more than 30. I have a bachelor in International Agriculture and Rural Development, and a master in Agroecology, and work experience in farming, teaching, and hospitality.
I am constantly torn between starting a career in agriculture, or taking more time to understand the world around me. Job offers will decide for me!
Current life situation:
I moved to Santa Cruz, CA, after completing my master degree in Europe. The goal coming here was to come work for a small environmental non-profit, but that plan fell through. After a few months of trying to make it work in Santa Cruz, I feel in love with Berkeley and decided that was where I want to be. It was also the motivating factor to start another project I had in mind for the last couple of years: converting a car/van into a living space, and then van dwelling. The first part of this project is now accomplished (!!!!!), and I have officially started living in my van! We'll see how things move from there.
Personality:
I'm always interested in different ideas and thought processes. I thrive on intellectual stimulation and being in wide, wild landscapes. I like the mountains more than the beach, prefer the snow to the ocean. But I'm always up to try new things, from foods to activities, from behaviors to ways of thinking.
I'm rather relaxed, but also rational and driven, but also flexible. I go with the flow if it feels right, but don't give into peer pressure if I don't want to. I try to be mindful of others at all times, but won't give up my values. Honest and polite communication is the best way to go.

Books: ... a lot!
I read Philip Pulman's "The Northern Lights" when I was 13 and had been obsessed with the idea of seeing the Northern Lights! Mission failed in Northern Alberta, Canada, but accomplished in the Lofoten Islands, Norway!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Hitchhiking in Alberta, Canada, at -20°C and being picked up by a cop who would not let me out until he was sure I was no criminal or runaway.
- Being spontaneously offered to be hosted by a man met on a plane. Me and my friends ended up staying for two nights (instead of in a tent north of the polar circle) and experienced a wonderful party with the cultural elite of Bodø!
