About Me

I'm a friendly Asian guy living in San Francisco.

I am respectful, and am usually on the quiet side. As a traveler, I will be careful, and be helpful whenever I can.

My graduate degree is in linguistics, and I was a language teachers for a few years. So please see the Teach, Learn, Share section. I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker, and a near-native English speaker (with American accent, because I live in the US. I have lived here for almost 25 years. In fact was told my pronunciation is actually more understandable than many local folks who were born and raised in the States.

The building I live in is actually a higher-end condo, and at a central location - one block away from Bart/Muni. (This is not a common in SF.)

IMPORTANT. PLEASE READ BEFORE MAKING REQUESTS:

* Currently I'm only accepting requests from "friends."

** I'm a gay man, and in my early 50's. So I'd only feel comfortable interacting with folks either gay themselves, or are gay friendly. My flatmate is in his mid 70's. So you'll also need to be senior citizen friendly.

*** Also important for surfers making a request: Please read the paragraph that's marked "please read this paragraph," in the "MY HOME" section. Requests without specifying the option will be be respectfully declined. (Just a sign that you didn't spend time reading my profile.)

**** My plan is not to give out key for my apartment, unless otherwise arranged. But my flatmate is home almost all the time. After I welcome you personally when you arrive, my flatmate can let you in and out, when I'm not here.

More About M
:
I work in finance, and have my own business. I have lived in San Francisco for more than 20 years, so I believe I can offer useful information if you need it.

I wouldn't call myself a nudist, at least not yet. But if a guest or a host would like to go au naturale, I don't mind that either. I joined nudist groups here to expand my circle, i.e. interested trying out being a nudist with a nudist host. It seems to be quite a thing on this site.

That's it. If you want to learn more about me feel free to in touch.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all sub-genres of classical music. A few composers to through out there: Debussy, Chopin, Gerald Finzi (my latest obsession)... I also like pop singers like Michael Buble and Allison Krauss (blue grass fusion, one may say.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I sang with San Francisco Symphony Chorus for a few years. It was a wonderful experience. One recording we even won a Grammy Award. (Of course, shared with hundreds of others.) The entire chorus experience was memorable.

Teach, Learn, Share

I studied linguistics, and actually had an emphasis on language learning and teaching (TESL.) So if you're learning English or Mandarin Chinese, then I can try to give you some of my two cents' worth, particularly on the pronunciation (phonetics.)

Musically, I play flute at intermediate level, and I sing. Do you need a harmony backup singer? :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Conversations. Cultural perspectives. Life experience. See the Teach, Learn, Share section for more. I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker, and a near-native English speaker.

And of course, if you would like to share meals, I can certainly contribute! I can also just take you out to a meal or two, as a token of appreciation.

I'll likely bring a bag of loose leaf green tea as a present for you (from a store in China town.) If you prefer black tea, herbal tea, or some other kind, please let me know.

I am considerate and polite, so I'd think I'm easier to host than average guests.
