Overview
About Me
I'm a traveller of both time and space! Have visited 99 countries and 193 UNESCO World Heritage Sites so far.
I finished my master's degree in Global Studies in January 2016, and I'm currently working at the EU Delegation in Tanzania.
Surfing, I do not need much, a carpet on the floor is a minimum... You don't have to show me around (but feel free) as long as I can get a secret tip or two about what all those of you who call the place home enjoy.
I'm an easy going, very relaxed and open-minded (very usual for a couchsurfer)... A hopeless optimist privately and somewhat cynically professionally - and very hard to make unhappy for long periods of time.
I'm a dive master and a hopeless travelling bum... And as every travelling bum, I like finishing a hard day of exploring off with a cold beer.
Guess I'm pretty organized, and a good planner, but rules a made to be broken! I love improvising and to see where life takes me if I just let it roll!
As a host, I appreciate that potential surfers have read my/their host's profile, made an active choice of whom to surf with, and that it shows in the request. Though it might be annoying to spend 15-30 minutes on every request, it is going to make the CS experience more enjoyable for both you and me/your host.
So please do not send me copy/paste requests. If you do not care who you are staying with, please use the option 'Create a Public Trip' - it is there for the same.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started liking the idea of sharing ones home with travellers when people in the Middle East invited me into their houses simply by interest in "this foreigner visiting" and showed me incredible hospitality - it's that hospitality I try to pass on!

Music, Movies, and Books
Travel books! I am currently trying to get through Marco Polo's 'Travels'.
Jared Diamond's 'Guns, Germs and Steel" is recommendable if you wanna know "Why the Spanish invaded the Incas, and not the other way around?" and in general why the World looks as it does now.
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is an all time favourite!
I am a huge Doctor Who fan and is pretty happy about anything BBC.
While I do watch a lot of movies, I don't really have any favourite. Films are too different, too short and rarely stick in my head enough for me to claim a favourite movie.

Teach, Learn, Share
About the wonders of paying 50 % of your income in taxes, as we do in Denmark. Or about recent developments in Tanzania.
And I consider myself a very experienced traveller - not that I do lectures, but discussing how "best" to travel always provide exciting insights to one's own travel.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Educated in International Politics and with travelling as my only real hobby, I do not have a lot to offer (unless you like international political analyses or travel stories)... I can give some useful insights into Tanzania too...
