About Me

I'm a 22 year old student living in Trondheim, Norway, where me and my fiancée share an apartment together.

I just finished my first year of a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Last year i was enrolled in the norwegian armed forced, where i played in his Majesty the Kings band and drill team.

Both me and my fiancée are vegetarians, and we're expecting a baby boy this september :)

We are calm and relaxed people, and we're not that much into "partying", in it's typical sense.

And of course: I love kittens

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We joined the couchsurfing network in 2014, as we were planning to go on an interrail trip. The trip was awesome, and we met a lot of great people through couchsurfing. As soon as we get our own apartment (renting a small apartment at the moment), we'll definately start hosting other couchsurfers!

Interests

I play the Euphonium (wind instrument), and i'm an active member of the Green Party of Norway.

Marianne is a barista of profession and loves everything that got to do with coffee. She's also reading a lot and enjoys knitting (she's really good at that).

Music, Movies, and Books

I love those movies that make you sit for a long time and just think after you've watched them - either because of their complexity or the nature of their topic. I guess my favourites, that i can think of, are Schindler's list, Inception, Home, Interstellar and the Wolf of Wall street.

And of course i really like the great trilogies and movie series "the Lord of the Rings", "The Hunger Games" and Harry Potter".

I've read a couple of books, but not that many. I would like to recommend "Mengele Zoo" by the norwegian author Gert Nygårdshaug. It's really the greatest book i've ever read.

Other books i've read (that i can think of now): "The Hobbit" by J.R.R Tolkien, "Global Economy. How the rich got rich and why the poor get poorer", by the norwegian economist Erik Reinert, "Rhinocéros" (play), by Eugène Ionesco and "Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future" by Ashlee Vance.

Now reading "The lean startup" by Eric Ries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Performed as a part of his Majesty the Kings Guard band and drill team at the Nova Scotia International tattoo in Halifax in 2015.

THAT was really an amazing experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to discuss all kinds of topics, especially politics (in general, but mostly how we as a western society should deal with our current problems, such as climate change, the degradation of our bio diversity, immigration and other topics such as the future of transportation and energy production etc, etc).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Except from playing an instrument, i really don't have any skill that i'm really good at. I have got a lot of knowledge about all sorts of things, or at least i like to think that (don't we all? ;) ). I'm definitely a techno geek, updated on most of waht's going on in the world of technical innovation. So as mentioned above, i'm really into discussing those kind of things.

I haven't asked her, but i'm sure Marianne would love to teach you how to knit (or perfectly brew your coffee) ;D
