About Me

Hello, I am a student studying ceramics in Iznik. I came here from Istanbul. I love living in this small town. My dream is to visit other countries. So, I want to learn English. I am currently doing an internship at a ceramics workshop.

Iznik is a very important place for Christianity. The First Council of Nicaea was a council of Christian bishops convened in the Bithynian city of Nicaea (now İznik, Turkey) by the Roman Emperor Constantine I in AD 325. All the ruins of the ancient city are still in use. There are incredibly beautiful Roman buildings everywhere. We have a big lake, a piece of heaven... You have to stop here just to see the sunset and the lake. There are dozens of ceramic workshops. There are many places to camp, walk and bike. And there are beautiful olive groves everywhere.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people and learn about their culture and learn English.

My sister uses Couchsurfing all the time and meets new people. In this way, she learned English and went to many countries. She is an archaeologist lives in Izmir. ( https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/bilgehan-usta )
Then I started using coucsurfing and started practicing English. I live in Bursa/ İznik and studying ceramics. Also our brother started using coucsurfing in İstanbul with our family.

Thus, as the Usta family, we will share our homes with new people in Izmir-Bursa(İznik)-Istanbul. Even this thought seems very beautiful and very sincere to us.
