About Me

Selamlar! Hello, there! It's Asli from Istanbul, Turkey. Do you have a buddy that adores animals, drinks iced lattes even in the winter, secretly listens to Justin Bieber, is optimistic about the future, and enjoys life despite all the negativity around her? That one friend is always planning trips but can't afford them. That friend is me...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing looks so much fun and safe for one to travel. Although it is a great opportunity for an affordable journey. I like the whole idea of being a "world citizen". Couchsurfing paves the way for a great intercultural network.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all kinds of music from all around the world but obviously, I'm fond of American Pop and R&B music. I'm a big fan of The Weeknd, Halsey, and Post Malone. However, my current favorite song is Labrinth&Zendaya-All for us. I am into cheesy high school rom-com. My all-time favorite is 10 Things I Hate About You and my comfort zone sitcom is FRIENDS! I love self-improvement books and also the ones that contain so much drama :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done was living in the USA as an exchange student for a year. I traveled to all kinds of amazing places such as the Grand Canyon, Hollywood, Disneyland in LA, Seattle, etc. It was for sure the climax of my whole life story and l would like to do it again!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Since I have an experience as an exchange student, I would love to share my culture which is Turkish with you all. I love bringing cultural gifts from my home country and LOVE COOKING my local dishes. Also, I am a part-time English tutor in my country. I can teach you a couple of phrases in Turkish as well. I'd love to share my culture, be a super fun friend to hang out with within the city, and be a great roomie. Although I don't currently have a house in my city, I also would like to be a part of your Istanbul journey if you visit here!
