Next trip: Asia & South America! Starting from Indonesia (May - June 2023)

Hello everyone. I’m Asmaa (Esmé), passionate about travels, I always try to stay in a country not less then 5 months. I’m Italian and Moroccan, so I grow up between two cultures.

I lived in Belgium (Gent) in Egypt (Cairo), Palestine, England, Ireland. I spent 3 years in Morocco 4 years in Senegal. Actually I'm living between Morocco, Italy and Senegal. All these experiences and others made me really strong and happy to meet wherever I go new people!
I studied Oriental languages and anthropology, I did a master in project management for International Cooperation in Rome. After a career in project management with NGOs I decided to start my own social business. Still in the way as consultant. I'm passionate about travelling and meeting new people and discovering new places.

In 2023 I wil realise my biggest dream: discover the world slowly starting from Asia and South America.
On may I will start from Indonesia and step by step I will discover the countries around.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I try to participate in CS events in the town I live, and even in the ones I am visiting.
I trully believe CS is great. It not only allows one to learn other ways to see the world. To visit a place and see what locals think but also to encounter other travellers with the same existencial quests. Once we start crossing borders something happens inside and you can only find a silent understanding with others who have gone through the same process.
It also augments my faith in humanity. Travelling, hosting, surfing... is overwhelmingly profound. Not only you get to realize how many altruistic good people are out there, but it makes you want to be a more social, more helpful human being.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I visited a daara, in Touba where I spent some days.

I lost my self in the desert...what a nice experience!
