Overview
About Me
I'm an Australian artist and writer who loves travelling to Europe to find artistic inspiration. I've been learning Norwegian and am keen to practise it with native speakers. I also use Auslan (Australian sign language) as I'm Deaf, and would love to learn other sign languages too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm looking to meet interesting people and to get to know my locations through real people and activities rather than following the standard tourist path. I've never tried couch surfing but it really appeals to me. If you lend me your couch to sleep on I promise to be a lovely guest - I'm quiet, tidy, clean and polite.
I'll also paint you a little picture to say thank you.
Since I'm Deaf I communicate through writing in English or Norwegian, and through visual communication such as sign language, mime, gestures, body language etc. I'm very easy to understand, I promise!
Interests
I'm into art, especially painting, all kinds of craft, and writing. I've got 6 books published and am currently writing both number 7 and number 8 at the same time. I sell my work over the internet - you can check it out at www.asphyxia.com.au I'm also into health, good food, nutrition, and living lightly on the planet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I built my own home for only $10,000 when I was 22. It's a mud brick eco cottage with huge food gardens, and I still live there today. I have learnt to raise my own meat and be as self-sufficient as possible.
One day I hope to open up my home and couch to couch surfers, but I've got to try it out myself first, and negotiate with those I live with!
What I Can Share with Hosts
My art. I'll paint you a sweet picture if you like my stuff. I'm also good at life coaching, can teach you how to grow food or live a more sustainable life, and give you tips for selling creative stuff over the internet too if you fancy. Oh and I can teach sign language, if you like.
