About Me

A very tender, very queer, and very radical city dweller from Toronto.

I’m a Canadian born and raised. I grew up around the downtown area of Toronto and started to learned to appreciate and respect other cultures from a young age. I say started because the moment you think you’re done learning about anything you’re dead!

There’s a lot of beauty in living and humans have found so many different ways to express it. Whether I’m travelling or comfortable in my own city I love to keep an open heart to anyone kind enough to share a piece of that beauty with me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that spending time with people of the communities that I’m visiting is the best way to appreciate and respect a culture that’s different from my own.

Music, Movies, and Books

Fav musical artists:
Cat Clyde, Fka twigs, Stella Donnelly, Junglepussy, Rico nasty, Doja cat, Megan thee Stallion, Frank Ocean, Lion babe, The Internet, Joe Hisaishi, Beach house, Angel Olsen, Ichiko Aoba, Little Simz

fav books:
- Women and nature: it’s an historical perspective on women’s perceived relationship with nature and the associations of earth with femininity. It’s written as a dialogue between a male voice making his assumptions on women and a response from the author. It’s an absolute killer.
- The Black Book on Canadian politics: it’s here on my favourites because it’s so well written that anyone without a background in world politics or Canadian politics can read it and easily follow it.
- Oliver Twist: A witty and funny commentary on England in Dickens’ time.

Fav authors at the moment: bell hooks, Alice Walker, Keri Hulme, Reiner Maria Rilke

Fav movies and TV shows: they/them (Goldbloom), Whisper of the Heart (Ghibli), Neon Genesis Evangelion (Anno), Avatar the last Airbender, Paris is Burning (Livingston), The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love, C.R.A.Z.Y

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Summoning the bravery to honour my feelings and fight to stay true to myself.

Teach, Learn, Share

My philosophy is that there are countless ways to interpret our world, and each one of them is just as valid and just as flawed. The important lesson I carry with me when using that philosophy is to maintain awareness of the prejudice, ignorance, and hate I have in the foundations of my thinking and the thinking of others. I am constantly learning and unlearning about the world and I push myself and others to continue this process. I’m travelling partially to discuss those views of the world and understand why we choose to see the world as we do. Hopefully we can learn a little with each other!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m 20 with only a little worldly wisdom, but for the most part I’m just trying to learn how to be a decent adult and coexist. I’ll do my best to share what I know and help us make some positive memories 🌼
