About Me
**** PLEASE NOTE, FOR SAFETY REASONS I DO NOT RESPOND TO MESSAGES FROM NON-PAYMENT VERIFIED COUCHSURFERS. ALSO I RECEIVE 20-30 MESSAGES PR DAY SO PLEASE DONT BE OFFENDED IF I DONT GET BACK TO YOU! ****
My name is Astrid. Next stop: Montenegro
I work at a local theatre as a lighting technician and part-time hostess. There's something truly magical about theatres, I'm one of the few people I know who actually LOVE their job. It's very important for me to be surrounded by good, talented and interesting people, that's why I love my job and collegues so much.
When I'm not happily dancing around at work I learn stuff. I ask myself questions throughout the day and Google them when I get home. I read portraits and articles and analyses and I discuss my ideas and thoughts with friends.
I have a huge interest in the environment and run my own volunteer organisation that lets people swap wardrobe with each other instead of buying new textiles they don't really need.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing makes it more interesting to travel around Europe, you can jump straight into each culture alongside with the locals rather than hanging around some hotel like a tourist. Also, walking the camino showed me what real hospitality is like and there is no greater joy than taking care of others needs and being cared for yourself. I find that you connect with people on a much greater level when you share a meal, a roof and stories. Couchsurfing enables me to let strangers into my life and also take part in the life of strangers.
Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy practically any genre of music with the only exception of black metal. Some of my favourite movies include Inception, Breakfast on Pluto, Old boys (The original Korean version, obviously) and Hot Rod (Forgive me).
My love for books and litterature in general is endless, I don't even know where to begin. I'm a huge fan of 1 world war poetry, Isaac Rosenberg and that sort but I guess Vladimir Nabokov is the author with the biggest space in my heart.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walked the camino twice (French route, Northern route). Also saved a seagull's life. I do amazing things all the time.
