Overview
About Me
My name is Astrid, 26 years old and from Denmark. I’m studying Arab and Islamic Studies (which I find really interesting, but also don’t know exactly what I should do with after graduating).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I signed up on couchsurfing the first time I visited Iran - I had been hearing so much good about using couchsurfing in Iran and I just really wanted to meet people, so couchsurfing sounded like an ideal way of traveling there. I had some amazing experiences with CS in Iran and later on Jordan, and now I can hardly imagine traveling without using couchsurfing :)
I love meeting people, experience the culture and learn as much of the language of the country I'm visiting as I can during my stay!

Music, Movies, and Books
I play the flute and like playing classical music, but also scandinavian and some african (sukuma) folk music.
I’ve watched way too few movies.
Also I don’t get to read much else than what I read for my studies - but now it’s holidays and I just had time to read Iranian Shahrnush Parsipur’s “Women Without Men”, which I really enjoyed and would like to recommend! The most weird, beautiful and funny book I’ve read for a long time.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived for 26,5 years without visiting IKEA.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like collecting recipes and learning how to cook local dishes when I travel. Danish cuisine is not very exciting, otherwise I would have loved to teach some Danish recipes too. We have good pancakes though, that I would be happy to share :)
