ABOUT ME

My name is Astrid and I am 23 years old. I study Political Science at Aarhus University in Denmark. My interest in Political Science tends to be more in the political philosophy than the votes and particular politicians involved. Besides studying, I enjoy music, which I both play on the piano and listen to daily. Also, I play football weekly on a girls team associated with my university. Last year I went to South America for almost 5 months, where I had some great experiences with an organisation called Servas, somewhat like Couchsurfing. When I travel, I like to see, not only the country from the outside, but also try to see how and why this country is different from my own and what we can learn from each other.

My next travel is to California with my boyfriend Daniel, who is into sports, politics, arts and history. We are openminded people, who would love to meet some locals as we go along :-)

There is almost nothing that is so bad, that it can not be a good story to tell (in time).

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I'm surfing California, but I really hope to be able to meet some surfers in Aarhus as a host as well :-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't had my first couchsurfing experience, bur looking so much forward to it. Though I have been visiting several fantastic people in South America through an association called Servas, wich I have been very exited about. I hope to have many great experiences with this brilliant concept :-)

Interests

Playing and listening to music, cooking and eating good food, playing all kinds of ballsports, outdoor life, friends, shopping, nature, going to cafes :-)

When I am not studiyng I love to lpay music on the piano, clarinet and accordion, which I am currently learning to play :-) Besides this I like sports and right now I play football on a team of girls from Politcal Science. I also really enjoy staying outside and taking long walks with my backpack and maybe a tent. I am also trying to discover the nature in my community and close to my hometown since I have through South America and Eastern Europe, but not yet seen all that my own country has to offer :-)

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all kinds of music and movies!
In books I also like a bit of everything :-) Crime novels by Agatha Christie and mysterious stories by Haruki Murakami.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walking through the valleys towards Machu Picchu and meeting the beautiful locals and descendants of the Inkas living in the mountains. Amazing experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have an accordion, which you are allowed to try! I can teach you how to fold boxes out of paper and how to make a real good pie with vegetables and feta! Besides I have a sewing machine, which i am very handy with. I can be help you patch our socks or trousers if you have been travelling for a long time :-)
