Overview
About Me
My name is Vidmante, I am a molecular biologist now starting an endeavor in neuroimmunology. I love sweets and postcards. I even started a social aware postcard business during the pandemic. My kind of fun is climbing until I can not move, playing board games, getting lost in the middle of nowhere (mostly swampsnor mountains), writing a letter for a friend or going geocaching somewhere cool. I like mountaineering, hiking or basically any active sport that is done outside in the Nature.
I grew up in Northern Lithuania and currently I am living and studying in Germany.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have been trying to befriend music for many years as I used to play piano and guitar since I was 6 years old, now I am very lousy at playing so I chose ukuele which is easy and light . Anyways, I value good music and people who can play or sing. I can sing Lithuanian folk songs to my hosts or guests, also I would like to hear and learn something about music (not only folk) from different countries.
I love anything about space and time travels (Yes, I am a fan of Doctor Who), travelling, adventures. I basically enjoy many different movies excepts transformers, superheroes (sorry) or racing movies :D.
Being a slow reader I do not read a lot but I like Camus, Škėma and Exupery works quite a lot. I am a fan of Lithuanian poetry and short novels in general.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A parachute jump when I was 12 years old (alone, with no guide attached). My parents made me do it and they are VERY proud of it. I was so scared, I do not remember much, just that the parachute dragged me on my face on the ground for several meters because I did not know how to close it properly. It ruined my face for forever.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach some Lithuanian (it is the oldest and the least changed language in Europe), knitting, ukulele playing, climbing or just inspire you in general.
I would like to learn something new, especially about mountaineering and rock climbing but at the same time I would like to learn or try a new thing that I have never done before. Learning some Greenlandic would be great!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Most likely I will bring something from my home country or my travels, also, I would bore every host to death by telling about Lithuanian culture, traditions, music (or even singing some folk songs) or anything is my host's field of interest.
