ABOUT ME

curious about life, the universe, and everything. one of my favorite quotes: "curiosity is the cure for boredom. there is no cure for curiosity."

i'm an astronomer at the australian astronomical observatory. i travel often and live in sydney!

i enjoy experiencing different ways of life and learning the traditions of people from around the world. i feel most at home in a new place after i watch the seasons pass and see how the people change to adapt.

but during the shorter timescales of typical visits, couchsurfing provides a wonderful opportunity to experience new places from the inside by gaining insight to the ways individual people live in their towns! i enjoy meeting new people, hearing their stores, and sharing many laughs!

i have participated in meetups in all cities i've lived in since 2007 and thoroughly enjoyed myself. i have hosted CSers in several countries where i have lived and i have also gratefully stayed with people all over the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

swimming with wild dolphins off the south island of new zealand. total solar eclipses near shanghai, china and far north queensland. getting trapped on the wrong side of an austrian river after a rainstorm melted so much water from the glacier caves we were exploring! we did escape, eventually :)
