About Me

CURRENTLY NOT IN MOSCOW

I'm quite a chill, friendly and easy-going person, eager to make acquaintances with new people from different cultures :)
i've got a bachelor degree in cultural studies and now working in an urban planning organisation, in the department of heritage protection.
My dream is to set off to the worldwide tour (or at least to begin with Europe) and also to enter a professional field of architecutural restauration and conservation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I appreciate the experience of socializing with people from different countries and I would be happy to share my culture as well.

Interests

Arts, yoga, architecture, walking in a historical center of a random old town, European culture, reading, ecology, traveling, vegetarian life style.

I'm interested in volunteer work, especially in projects on conservation-restauration of historical buildings (for two times, in the summer of 2017 and 2018 I've been involved into volunteer restauration projects in France).

I'm really interested in history, especially the first decades of the XX century (the topic of my final term paper was dedicated to the everyday life culture of housing in Moscow and Saint-Petersbourg in the 1920-30s, compared to the 1890s).

Currently vegetarian, planning to switch to a vegan diet soon (hopefully...)

Although it's extremely rough to do recycling in Russia, I'm convinced that even one person's actions matter and can contribute into solving the global ecological crisis.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to very different genres of music.
As for movies, I like thrillers, comedies and detectives.
As for books, I'm quite a fan of Russian classics (Chekhov, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Bulgakov) and especially anti-utopian novels (Orwell, Bradbury and Huxley).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I did bungee jumping from a 20-meter bridge! :D

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach a piece of Russian (or at least try!) I'm eager to learn about other people's countries, about what's everyday life looks like there. I'm always ready to try learning some phrases from different foreign languages. What I can share are stories about the quite old center of Moscow, a nice walk around it and my adoration and love towards this beautiful and diverse city!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Since I was born and grew up in the center of old Moscow, I can tell quite a lot about some places around here - and I will be happy to do so because I'm absolutely in love with the place I live in! :)
I can tell quite a lot about Russian culture, especially about the period of XIX century and the early decades of the Soviet epoch.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Egypt, France, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, United States, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, Russian Federation
