About Me
ABOUT ME
Hi!
I'm working as a doctor in Portsmouth, UK and spend most of my days off planning my next adventure. I love to spend an evening in good conversation, sharing stories and coming up with new ideas of where to go and how to get there.
Adventure is the name of the game! I love exploring and discovering new places, but will also always be willing to show people around Portsmouth and Oxford, my hometown (although I am actually Russian and will also be very happy to share St Petersburg with guests when I am there).
PHILOSOPHY
Life is far too short - grasp every opportunity that comes your way and relish every day!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have had the privilege of being hosted by wonderful people from around the world and I am honoured that they shared their homes, stories and time with me. I am new to hosting on couch surfing, but have co-hosted with my old house-mate before (not to mention hosting friends from home and abroad on a regular basis). I look forward to meeting interesting people from all over the world, willing to share their adventures and culture with me. My rota can make hosting difficult, but I do my best and will try to show guests around if I can.
Interests
I'm a dancer. Not a day goes by without me dancing in one way or another - be that down the corridor or at the kitchen sink. I love to cycle, and think the best way to spend a sunny day is to escape into the countryside on my bike. I'm also a keen trekker and backpacker with a list of places I would like to see and explore. If I was not working, I would probably be travelling the World!
Most of all I love to meet new people and talk!

Music, Movies, and Books
I always make time to read and really enjoy it. I'm hopelessly romantic and old-fashioned, having read far too much of the classic literature, but also love a gripping thriller or detective novel. The same goes for movies and there are some films that I can watch over and over again as they will never stop being entertaining.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Trekking in the Altai mountains, crossing a pass at over 3000m in a blizzard in mid-July, to endure the coldest and most uncomfortable night of my life, but to emerge from our tent in the morning into the beaming sunlight, overlooking Mt Belukha (the highest peak of Russia).
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe that the World and people will never develop without sharing of knowledge, experiences and culture. I love to teach, and have tutored for many years, but I also love having my mind broadened. I am especially keen to hear about different cultures, and will always be talking about my own.
