Originally inspired by Emerson and Thoreau's rebellious natures, I am intrigued by the process and results of civil disobedience, of the pursuit of one's own life purpose particularly when it clashes with society's norms. It fuels the rebel's soul within.
This has lead me to leave my first corporate job and my second job as a teacher to build an organization based on justice in education - with the aim of truly educating children in the way that they learn and equipping them with skills needed for their futures (rather than forcing them to memorize information for exams that they'll soon thereafter forget). This is my passion and this is my purpose. I love meeting new people, especially those that share or exceed my level of crazy, and I love embarking on adventures with them - whether outside or mentally through intriguing conversations. I also love meeting people that share my passion for true education - let's change the world together!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard about it on a TEDx talk and realized it's such a great way to meet other adventurous people both near and far. As Chris said in "Into The Wild," "happiness is only real when shared." And it's amazing that there's a community to share it with!

Interests

To summarize what I wrote above: true & effective education, comfort zone challenges, traveling, social and emotional intelligence, pretty much any outdoor adventure - the crazier the better, doing crazy things that make people cringe, climbing high places and seeing beautiful views, meeting new people from different places, seeing the beautiful world God has created. I also have a daily habit of running after sunrise then doing Pilates. I try my best to eat healthy but wow do I love burgers and waffles with Nutella.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything adventure-related, that ignites the rebel soul within or nourishes the love for life and happiness within. If I could be a character in a movie, I'd be Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean. ✌🏻

Books: reading (besides running) is life! I recently finished "How to Win Friends and Influence Others" by Dale Carnegie and "The War of Art" by Steven Pressfield. TOTAL LIFE CHANGERS. I highly recommend them to everyone!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

(1) Jumped into a military base, explored it, then found my way out.
(2) Convinced the manager of a prestigious furniture store to give me a painting for my newly redecorated bedroom for FREE (and he did).

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Languages (Arabic, English), training essentials, crochet, cooking Arabic and some Italian food, how to use excel (lol I'm trying to build a list here), how to lead a healthy lifestyle, how to read body language, how to build great habits that last, how to find the courage to change your life...
Learn: Skydiving, kayaking, motorcycle riding, PAINTING (specifically I want to become a wall artist), interior design, fashion design, entrepreneurship (which I'm currently practicing and love to develop and refine), marketing for success... anything adventure-related...
Share: Adventures, deep conversations, bike rides, buggie rides, breakfast lunch dinner, strolls through the city, shopping, explorations, life lessons.
