About Me
WHO AM I?
Who am I, that the lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt?
Who am I, that the bright and morning star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart?

Name is Anders - means different in German... I might be different than you, and in my mind that is a great thing. Imagine a world where everyone was alike in every way - sounds boring, doesn't it? I'd say so ;-)
On a summer night in 1986, July 9th 02:07 AM to be precisely, I was born in a city named Kristiansund, a city located at the westcoast of Norway. So that means that I'm 38 years old, but my mind feels younger than that :-D
I've lived in Kristiansund most of my life, except for a few years in Stjørdal and a few years in Haugesund. Been working with people since 2005, customer service, security guard, driving instructor, kayak instructor, guide, bus driver, driving tests... Today I work as a driving instructor (Mr. Trafikkteacha), learning people to drive cars and motorcycles. I'm also a part time bus driver.
In 2013 my passion for traveling begun, and since that year I've traveled a lot - still am. The list of countries I've visited is growing longer, and the list of countries to visit gets shorter. Some countries I'm revisiting, Berlin is my "second home". Due to covid-19, 2020 ripped a whole in my traveling heart.
I’m just a traveller on this earth
Sure as my heart’s behind the pocket of my shirt
I’ll just keep rolling till I’m in the dirt
‘Cause I’m a traveller, oh, I’m a traveller

If you haven't picked up on it yet, I do like music. I'm not a musician, but I enjoy listening and might sing-a-long, not saying I got a great voice though.
Why do I enjoy traveling? Mostly because I always meet interesting people while traveling, and I do enjoy meeting new and interesting people. Seeing new places and get to know different cultures and languages is also great, trying different food and drinks, see places that doesn't include any tourist traps.
Tried living in a RV (Trailer) for three years (August 2013 - August 2016), it was three great years. Today I live in a small flat about 32 square meters, so I can't offer you a private room, but I got a comfortable couch, so if you don't mind sharing room, there wouldn't be any problems.
CURRENT MISSION
See more, learn more, be more!!!
There is so much more in this world I'd like to see. I can learn so much more, and adding those two together will be better. Share and receive, I'd be happy to trade a story for a story :-)
PHILOSOPHY
Before you talk to a person, you know nothing about him or her. The things you know might be skin color, how they dress, hair style, maybe a name (if they have a visible luggage tag or something), walking style and things like that. Nothing of these things actually says something about the person itself, unfortunately some people thinks so.
Hamna Shida - No worries/No concern/No problem :-)
Memento mori - Remember that you have to die (seems a bit harsh, but it's true. And I believe it's important to remember, make the best out of life, because some day you'll cease to exist. You don't know when, might be tomorrow, might be in 30 years. Some day... Live life, enjoy the small stuff!)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've hosted and met a lot of interesting people through CS, using the hangout as often as I can and occasionally surfing on my travels.
I'm here because of people. Meeting new and interesting people is one of the best things in life, and CS is in my mind a great possibility to do so.
I won't host someone who's just after a place to sleep, if you'd like to visit me it's as a guest and temporary (and if we enjoy our company enough -more permanent) friend. Because of the sleeping arrangement you also won't have a private room, so it's no hotel -will be similar to hostel, but it's not that either. If you'd like to pay for staying, there is several hotels in this area. But I seldom say no to gifts, or a meal if you'd like to cook.
If I send a request it means I find your profile interesting, and would like to visit you -get to know you. If I'd like just a place to sleep, I'll go for a hostel. If I'd like something private I'd go for a hotel. If you would like me to pay for staying at your place, I'd go for one of those alternatives I just said. But I'm happy to cook for you/with you, or share something I might bring along.
I've mostly had great experiences with CS, hope it will continue this way and I'm sure to do my best for that to happen. It's always a great topic to tell about bad couchsurfing experiences, but it's not that great to be experiencing them ;-)
To quote Dr.Seuss:
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”
